Club Q – A unique Club night for youth

CLUB Q will be opening its doors on Easter Tuesday 6th April at 8.00pm.

The event will transform the Quay Road Hall, Ballycastle into an under 18's nightclub venue with state of the art laser lights show, top sound system, sets from a number of established nightclub DJ's and will also introduce young emerging talent into the Club scene.

This is a 'not to be missed' event for the youth in the area. The event has been planned to provide the under eighteens with the ultimate club experience in a fun, safe and supervised environment. The venue will look just like one aimed at a much older audience but it will be strictly alcohol, drug and tobacco free. The staff who will be on site, have all being chosen, not just for their talents and abilities but also for their understanding of young people.

Alcohol or those believed to have consumed alcohol will not be permitted onto the premises and we request that those not wishing to consent to an alcohol free evening stay away.

"Club Q will, we hope be the first of many Club nights specifically for the under eighteens in the district. This event has been organised by Moyle Community Safety Partnership with support from the Community Safety Wardens, the PSNI and the Council and with the expertise of top club promoters, PJs entertainment and Blazers Entertainment. Club Q will be the culmination of the DJ training course that has been running since January.

The DJ trainees have undergone an extensive programme in the technical and commercial skills required to get involved in the highly competitive music scene.

Training has also included visits to established nightclubs in the area and opportunities to engage with professionals in the field, watch them set up for an event and in some cases assist with the performances.

On the 6th they will each be competing with their own unique sets in a battle to become the DJ champion of the event.

"I have been impressed with the commitment, enthusiasm and talent of the young participants on this course and wish to express thanks to the facilitators, Paul, Aidan and Raymond (DJ X-Ray) who have shared their skills , provided encouragement and support and have given the youth opportunities to gain practical experience of the industry," continued Bridgeen.

"A special thanks also to the Quay Road Hall management committee for their support and use of their facility to provide this unique event for the young people in the District.

The event will be supervised by a number of professional supervisors and no alcohol or unacceptable behaviour will be tolerated, those who do not wish to meet these conditions are asked to stay away. Those who want a fun club night out with their friends are asked to get on their club gear on come along and enjoy the professional DJ's and support the new talent. Expect to be impressed."
