Dunloy Comhaltas classes begin

Dunloy Comhaltas begins its classes in traditional music and singing for the year 2015 – 2016 on Wednesday September 2nd from 7pm until 8.30pm.

These classes offer musicians from the age of 8 and upwards, catering for all abilities, the chance to develop their skills in a range of instruments and traditional Irish singing.

Registration for the classes is on Wednesday 26 August from 7pm until 8.30pm in the Parish Centre in Dunloy. Classes will be offered in tin whistle, flute. fiddle, banjo, mandolin, button accordion as well as traditional Irish singing.

Dunloy Comhaltas is part of the larger network of Comhaltas branches which form Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCE).

Dunloy Comhaltas was formed in 1976 and has provided classes for over 30 years and can boast a number of winners at Ulster and All Ireland Fleadh level.

Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann was formed in 1951 with objectives including the promotion of Irish traditional music and dance.

It is organised extensively through-out Ireland, Britain and further afield.

It brings together people of different politics and creeds, promoting co-operation and harmony among different communities.
