Family Activity Day at JDLC

BALLYBOGEY Community Association are delighted to announce that they are due to host a 'Family Activity Day' on Easter Tuesday, April 6th from 12 noon to 3.00 p.m. at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre. Free transport will be provided from the Ballybogey Hall Carpark.

Activities to cater for all ages and abilities will be available, including: five a side football; new age kurling; swimming; treasure island; and a bouncy castle. All activities are free to residents from the Ballybogey area of Ballymoney.

The aim of the 'Family Activity Day' is to encourage all ages and abilities to consider the various physical activities that are available locally, and how such exercise can have an impact on their health and well being. This community led initiative will encourage all residents to undertake action to help reduce obesity.

The event will also provide valuable information on all the physical activity and healthy eating initiatives which are being hosted by Ballybogey Community Association from April to June 2010, after having secured funding through the 'Northern Investing for Health Partnership' in February 2010. This funding marks the first success for the rejuvenated committee which took up the challenge of improving their local community in September 2009.

Daniel Hickinson, Chair of B.C.A. said he 'hope this event will provide people with ideas and confidence to try something new' as the need for health based initiatives for the local community was highlighted in the Community Survey recently completed by the Association.

So come along and enjoy the fun!
