Kilraughts hit the Jackpot!

SATURDAY, March 20 marked the YFCU Annual Gala Evening an event which showcases the best of the Arts Festival Performances.

Among the top five clubs to feature at the Millennium Forum, Londonderry was Kilraughts Young Farmers Club for the 26th consecutive year. Forty plus club members combined their not inconsiderable talents to produce a colourful extravaganza entitled "Jackpot". The musical and drama ensemble was set in Las Vegas and was the story of a bunch of bumbling crooks plans to break into the vaults and steal all the money. The judges were appreciative of the hilarity of the show awarding the two dozy henchmen, Tony Kirkpatrick and Gary Thompson a prize for best comedy moment.

The club is deeply indebted to Kathleen and Michael McCafferty who took on the enormous task of producing the arts festival for the very first time. Their professionalism, enthusiasm and ability were very much appreciated. Many thanks also goes to band members Michael himself, Steven Neil, James Reid and Julie Wylie.
