Larne Council aid for Ulster-Scots?

Council officials have been authorised to meet with the Cairncastle Ulster-Scots group to progress potential funding opportunities.

The local authority has undertaken to “seek every opportunity” to provide match funding for a project to provide suitable premises.

Councillors were informed that the group has applied for grants from various bodies to extend Cairncastle Orange hall to make it more user-friendly. They also heard that nearby Ballygally Community Hall is in use “almost 100 per cent of the time”.
