Latest Events.etc brochure out now!

Ballymoney Borough Council has just released its new Events.etc brochure which gives details of arts and cultural events taking place in Ballymoney Town Hall from January until April 2014.

Organised by Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee and the Council’s Cultural Services, this season’s music programme features a number of familiar faces we are delighted to welcome back - the Apex Jazz Band on 30 January, Flamenco guitarist Eduardo Niebla on 26 March and popular singer songwriter Anthony Toner on 3 April – and for the first time The Down & Out Bluegrass Band who will be performing in Ballymoney on 6 February as part of the Cultural Crossings programme.

Local historian S Alex Blair presents a new series of talks which delve into the complex story of the Planter and the Gael.

The first talk in the series, The Planter and the Gael: Often in Conflict in Ulster Life, takes place on Tuesday 21 January.

The series coincides with The Project of Plantation Exhibition on display in Ballymoney Museum from 22 January until 22 March. A special exhibition to mark the 75th Anniversary of Ballymoney Drama Festival will also be on display in the Town Hall from 11 February until 29 March.

If you feel like taking up a new hobby then why not have a look at our programme of Courses and Workshops for adults. It includes calligraphy, creative writing, crochet & knitting, flower arranging, jewellery making and painting.

There are also children’s courses in drama, dance and art.

Further details of all these events are in the new brochure. Copies are available from Tourist Information, Ballymoney Town Hall 028 2766 0230 or can be downloaded from the Ballymoney Borough Council website www.ballymoney.gov.uk
