Rosaleen Moore launches ‘Welcome To My World’ in Coleraine’s Bushtown

Originally from the Foreglen in Co.Derry, Rosaleen now lives in Glenullin. The sister of acclaimed Co.Derry Country star John McNicholl, she recently took the step of recording her own album, having recovered from a brain tumour last year. She recalls loving country music from an early age, naming Daniel O’Donnell, Shawn Cuddy, Joe Moore and her brother John as some of her biggest influences.

The new album, ‘Welcome To My World’ was recorded at the Ashford Studios in Feeney with producer Joe McNamee. It features a range of great tracks including the Philomena Begley favourite, ‘Medals For Mothers’, the Patsy Cline hit ‘Honky Tonk Merry Go Round’ and the old country standard ‘Please Help Me I’m Falling’.

Rosaleen relates: “Some of the songs I’d known for years and others were completely new to me, but I love all the tracks on the album and I really enjoyed doing it. I’d like to thank Joe McNamee and his wife Claire who’ve been great friends, and gave me great help and support in making my dream come true.”

The official launch of the album will be at the Bushtown House Hotel on Wednesday 25th January. Doors open at 7pm. Joining Rosaleen on the night will be her brother John McNicholl along with his band. Other special guests include Joe Moore, Robbie Magee, Jim McCloskey and another of Rosaleen’s siblings, Helen McNicholl.
