Summer scheme is a big hit

MOYRAVERTY Arts and Drama Society's Musical Theatre Summer Scheme was held recently at St Anthony's Centre with over 50 young people having the chance to learn new skills such as singing, dancing, acting and discipline.

The young people had the chance to work with a professional team from MADS! including Jonathan McGuinness (musical director), Caitrona Corr (vocal coach) and Emma Watson (choreographer). Both Jonathan and Caitrona were original members of MADS! and have progressed through the ranks of MADS! progressively. Emma has joined MADS! a few years ago and has been a great asset to the drama society.

The young people worked very hard over the week and then on the Friday night, the participants took to the stage and preformed songs, dances and scenes from the musicals Billy Elliot, Grease, Sound of Music, Hairspray, Legally Blonde and We Will Rock You. To acknowledge the children’s effort, each child was presented with a certificate.
