New Home Bargains aiming to open in March - Covid-19 permitting
The chain discount store Home Bargains is hoping to open its new Magherafelt premises on March 13.
A spokesperson told the Mail that the opening may be changed depending on the Covid-19 situation.
Work on the development off the Castledawson Road near the Lidl store is now mostly completed.
Home Bargains is currently recruiting staff - store supervisors, assistants and cleaners. Details are available on their website.
Last September the company said it was aiming to open in the first quarter of 2021.
It is located on the site of the former Forbes furniture shop, which has been roughly doubled in size since the work started almost a year ago.
Spacious car parking has also been added to the development which is approximately a mile from the town centre.
The site is owned by prominent Mid Ulster businessman, Patsy Forbes, who has plans to turn it into a retail park.
