Annual Art and Woodturners Exhibition this month

This month, Ballymoney Town Hall and Museum is the venue for one of the most popular events in the Borough’s events calendar, the 26th Annual Art & Ulster Woodturning Exhibition which goes on display from 15th-24th November.

The excellent combination of artwork and woodturning ensures this exhibition is one of the most highly anticipated events in the annual cultural programme. Featuring the work of local artists and the Ulster Woodturners, there is a great mix of traditional and more contemporary styles and themes.

The exhibition gives amateur artists from the local area and further afield a platform to exhibit their work and show off an excellent range of paintings. These paintings are in varying styles, giving visitors an opportunity to see a wonderful range of watercolours, oils and acrylics. This exhibition has always been very popular with both artists and visitors alike and this year promises to be no exception.

The turned wood on display is of outstanding quality and includes pieces by award-winning turners from the Irish Woodturning Guild. The museum is very grateful to the team of turners who each year contribute their wonderful craft for display. Their support and hard work has been vital to the continuing success of the exhibition.

The artwork & turned wood complement each other perfectly and are sure to attract visitors from a considerable distance. The exhibition is promoted by Ballymoney Museum and Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee and will truly be a feast for the eyes. The majority of work on display will be for sale, so this could be the ideal opportunity to pick up the perfect Christmas gift.

Admission is free and opening hours are Monday – Thursday & Saturday 9am-5pm & Friday 9am-4.30pm.
