Causeway market has ‘six appeal’...

Research has also shown that the popularity of the Coleraine market - now entering its sixth year - has helped to support local businesses by increasing footfall into the town centre.

Nathan Hamlin, the owner of ‘Windy City Baking Company’, which selling American cupcakes, has been a permanent trader at the market for just over a year.

“I can’t believe how well my business has done at the Causeway Speciality Market,” says Nathan. “I’m now in the position of having to take on staff because I simply can’t keep pace with my customer base. We have seen the demand for our cupcakes double since the start of the year.

Seamus Mullan, Love Olive, has had a similar experience: “All positive here. My staff have reported their personal best sales on the day at the Causeway Speciality Market.”

John Kinney of Kinney Meats is also gushing in praise for the Saturday morning market: “Great Market, great location, great people. Our free-range produce, particularly our dry-cured bacon and sausages, just sells out. This is what we want.”

Dr Jenny Sproule, whose role involves the management of the Causeway Market explains; “A lot of work has gone into building on the strengths of the Causeway Speciality Market.”

“It’s a good news story for Coleraine… its good for traders, its good for customers, its good for business and for supporting and sustaining economic prosperity in the town”.

Next month’s Causeway Speciality Market will take place on Saturday, October 13.
