CULINARY delights will be top of the menu in Cookstown next Wednesday 20th as local charity Charis Cancer Care launches their new cookery book, “Cooking with Charis”.
Those attending the launch will be entertained by music from Justin McGurk and a cookery demonstration from Ireland’s Good Food Ambassador, Jenny Bristow. The launch will take place in the heart of Tyrone where food fans from far and wide are expected to come out in support of a fantastic cause.
“Cooking with Charis” has been carefully developed with the aid of Jenny Bristow and shows you how to cut the calories from household favourites such as cottage pie and paella, delivering healthy plates to all the family. Charis believes that good food has the potential to be revitalising, comforting and restorative.
All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Charis. The charity provides psychological, physical and practical support in a tranquil environment for men and women diagnosed with cancer. The cookery book will raise funds to help Charis continue its work.
The launch is being held at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown on Wednesday 20th November at 7pm. Tickets for the event are £10 and are available from Charis Cancer Care, Lough Fea, and Friends of Charis, Magherafelt . You can also reserve tickets by phoning 028 8676 9217.
