DUNGANNON town centre will shift up a year this Saturday 28th September as the annual Hagan’s Bar Gannonball Run takes place.
Watch locals speed down the steep incline of Scotch Street in a hair raising, breath taking edge of your seat experience as a series of fantastic Autumn events kicks off at high speed!
The Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Councillor Sean McGuigan is looking forward to another geared up Gannonball Run.
He said: “Dungannon’s lofty hilltop location makes it the perfect platform for a soapbox race and we aim to put the fun into Dungannon once more on 28th September. We are delighted to welcome Hagans Bar into the hot seat again as lead sponsors and the entrants won’t fail to disappoint with their creative and wacky creations which will keep audiences cheering them on as they twist and turn along this year’s all new course.”
There will be seven prizes will be awarded in this year’s event - Fastest Single Run Time (King of the Hill), Fastest Overall Entry, Junior Section Award, Fastest Community/Voluntary Group/Agency, The “Crash and Burn” Award, The Most Imaginative Entry and Best Dressed Team.
The Chairman of the organising committee, Councillor Walter Cuddy is keen to see as many people as possible line the streets of Dungannon at the end of the month. He said:
“I look forward to seeing Dungannon once again come alive in a feast of colour, speed and adrenaline filled entertainment at the Hagans Bar Gannonball Run. Good luck to all our entrants and thanks to our sponsors for helping to make the event such a wonderful annual success.”

Hagans Bar Gannonball Run is part of the Festive Hill series of events which run from 21st until 28th September. Enjoy brass bands, swing bands, country music, rock music and lots more all week long to make the summer season stretch a little longer before we move into Autumn!
