Vintage enthusiasts promoting good relations

The Glens Vintage Club will hold their annual vintage rally and fun day on Saturday 13 August 2011 at Blaney’s Field, Cushendall from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

The event is part of the Heart of the Glens Festival, Cushendall.

The Glens Vintage Club are now building relations with the Ballymoney Old Vehicle Club. Both clubs have adopted statements to commit to good relations as part of Rural Community Network’s Rural Enabler Programme. This will open up membership of the Clubs to people from outside traditional membership areas.

The Chair of Glens Vintage Club said; “We are delighted to have the support of the Ballymoney Old Vehicle Club. We will be working closely with the club and some of their members will be helping us on our day.”

The Glens Vintage Club will officially launch their statement at their rally. Rural Enabler for County Antrim, Orla Black, said;

“The Rural Enabler Programme is aimed at supporting rural areas to peace build. The Glens Vintage Club and Ballymoney Old Vehicle Club have been very receptive to participating in our programme and I would like to thank them for their interest. Both clubs have worked hard to promote their commitment to good relations. I look forward to attending the Glens rally.”

The day will include bouncy castles, toy tractor trails, blacksmith demonstration, fergi tractor build, pony rides, and various other activities for vintage enthusiasts and young families.
