All roads lead to Tamlaght O’Crilly for the annual Parish Vintage Rally and Country Fair to be held on Saturday May 24.
Another exceptional event is planned, which just gets bigger and better each year.
The celebrations begin with a Dance to be held in Linen Hall Centre, Upperlands on Friday May 16 from 9.30pm.
The Vintage Group have a magnificent Fair lined up, with something for everyone, opening at 12 noon by Jenny Bristow.
Sing along to music by Steve Farlow- Ireland’s Music Man, The wee man from Strabane- Hugo Duncan and Andy Rodgers- Elvis Tribute Act.
Special attractions this year include the Tamlaght version of Ready, Steady Cook! Under pressure in the kitchen creating culinary masterpieces will be Hugo Duncan, battling it out against our very own chef supreme aka Timothy Dowie!
Judging will be by television master cook, Jenny Bristow, who will also be judging our Home Industries Show. All entries are welcome for this new venture, from home baking and floral art to photography, please ask for a schedule of classes.
Special prizes will be awarded for best in each class, very kindly sponsored by The Emporium Kilrea, Bell’s Supermarkets Kilrea and Garvagh, Montgomery’s Nurseries Upperlands and McCloy’s Chemist Kilrea. Watch out for Johnny and Molly, the poteen makers, who are guaranteed to create a stir!
For the kids there will be Mantella Zoo To You, interactive animal encounters and Donkey displays and rides. Watch the traditional straw crafting and basket making, listen to the pipes by local man Gary Dempsey accompanied by Rae, and don’t forget your pet for the Pet Show.
As usual, a great display of all things vintage will be there, all the usual stalls, games and amusements.
