Appeal after car crashes into Portstewart home

Police in Coleraine are appealing for information after a car was suspected to have crashed into a house in the Millrush Drive area of Portstewart in the early hours of Wednesday 27th April.

Police were called to the area at around 2.30am after damage was caused to the front of a house in the drive.

A car was abandoned and set on fire a short distance away in Agherton Cemetery. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze.

Sgt Colin Reeves of Coleraine Police Station said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who may have information about the incident to contact police at Coleraine on 101.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a black Ford Focus car being driven in the area at or around the time of this incident.

“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
