Apprentice Boys celebrate 300 years of history

A very special milestone was marked on Thursday evening in the Guildhall in Londonderry - the 300th anniversary of the Association of the Apprentice Boys of Derry.

To mark the event, a book was launched to mark the formation of the Association by Colonel John Mitchelburne.

The milestone was marked with a book launch by Mitchelburne Parent Club member, Colin Campbell, who said it had been “an honour and privilege” to be given the opportunity to compile the book.

The 128-page publication, heavily accented with photographs, is a history of the Colonel, and is to be circulated to schools and community groups.
