Mr Jim Quinn (44) T/A J&K Coaches of Ardean Close was fined for failing to take reasonable steps to organise his driver’s work to comply with EU Drivers Hours Rules. Mr John Nigel Skuce (52), Cookstown Road, Moneymore, was also fined a total of £200 on a related charge of failing to take a statutory weekly rest. On 28 April 2015, DVA Officers inspected a coach driven by Mr Skuce and requested the production of his tachograph records for examination. An analysis of these records indicated that he had failed to take a statutory weekly rest of at least 45 hours. Mr Skuce was offered a Fixed Penalty Notice but he has contested the charge and requested that the matter be referred for trial.
