Arson incident at Magherafelt Day Centre: appeal

Police in Magherafelt are appealing for information about an arson incident at a local day centre.

On Thursday morning, 11th, staff discovered that a shed at the Hospital Road centre had been damaged over night.

Appealing for information, Sergeant Sam Young said this was the second such incident at the centre recently.

“The centre is a very valuable amenity for people in the area. Anything that affects its work is to be deplored.

“We would ask people living nearby to keep an eye out for suspicious or unusual activity at times when the centre is not normally operating.”

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
