Ballymoney groups receive Awards for All grants

Community groups in the Ballymoney area have been awarded funding of over £27,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.

Ballymoney and District Cultural and Heritage Society has been awarded £10,000 to run ‘The Great War Remembered 1914-1918’ weekend long event to commemorate the First World War.

The grant will pay for a military vehicle display and other equipment.

Our Lady of Lourdes School received £7,983 to give pupils from the school the opportunity to take part in a week-long programme of creative activities at Halloween.

Stranocum LOL 749 also received £9,375 to new equipment for the group’s hall so that local people can take part in a range of activities, such as keep fit, choir practice, talks and lectures.

Awards for All offers grants of between £500 and £10,000.
