Bendooragh Apprentice Boys on the march

AT the July monthly meeting of Bendooragh Apprentice Boys, final arrangements were made for the forthcoming Relief of DerryCelebrations on Saturday.

Once again, Bendooragh Apprentice boys will be accompanied by Ballykeel Loyal Sons of Ulster. The club will also play host to forty brethren from Inverness Campsie Club, Scotland, who will spend a few days in the Ballymoney area.

The weekend celebrations will start on Friday with a trip to Londonderry for a guided tour of the historic walls accompanied by a talk about the History of the Apprentice Boys.

On returning to Ballymoney in the evening, a barbecue and fun night at the races will be held in the funciton room of the Manor Hotel.

Barbecue is to start at about 5.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Saturday, the Bendooragh brethren will meet at 8 a.m. in Bendooragh Orange hall followed by a parade of the village before making the short journey to Ballymoney to meet up with visiting brethren from Rasharkin Campsie Club who will be accompanied by Pride of the Maine, Ballymena, and Inverness Campsie Club who will accompanied by Tullaghans Sons of Liberty, Ballymoney.

The parade will move off from the Milltown approximately 9.45 a.m. to 10 a.m. and parade along Castle Street, up Main Street, High Street to the buses at the old Coleraine Road.

On returning to Ballymoney in the evening at around 6 p.m. the parade will form up at the old Coleraine Road and proceed back to the Milltown via High Street, Main Street, Castle Street.

After the parade brethren and friends have been invited back to the Manor Hotel for a buffet and the night will finish with a disco starting at 9 p.m. Everyone welcome.
