Braid to light up for Autism Awareness
Many iconic landmarks throughout the UK and the rest of the world will also be lit up blue to raise awareness for autism and this includes Ballymena’s very own Braid.
Speaking about the forthcoming event, the Mayor of Ballymena, Alderman PJ McAvoy said: “Ballymena Borough Council continues to support this event to help raise awareness of the work of Autism NI and the daily challenges face by those with Autism, and their families and carers.

Hide Ad“Autism NI seeks to ensure that people within the autism spectrum and their carers have access to appropriate services, enable people with autism to be valued members of our community.
“To support this work we are delighted to join the campaign by lighting up the Braid for World Autism Awareness day on April 4.”
Autism NI’s Chief Executive, Arlene Cassidy said: “We are very grateful that Ballymena Borough Council has chosen to support World Autism Awareness Day. By holding an event such as this, Ballymena Borough Council has helped to highlight the ‘hidden disability’ and give those affected the recognition they deserve.”
