Reports are coming in of a car explosion in Magherafelt’s Rainey Street just moments ago.
It is understood that Fire Service personnel are at the scene and that traffic has become congested in the area.
A spokesperson for NIFRS said the fire is being treated as accidental.
“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 2:12pm to a report of a car on fire at the Rainey Street area of Magherafelt this afternoon (Monday 18 January).
“One Fire Appliance from Magherafelt Fire Station was deployed to the scene. Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 2.33pm and the fire is being treated as accidental.”
