BURNAVON Writers have paid a visit to the newly opened ‘Hub’ in Cookstown, a new facility available to the community.
The writers meet regularly throughout the year to share their keen interest in creative writing, and this visit gave members of the group the opportunity to see the fantastic facility and meet Carol Doey, founder of the Hub.
Burnavon Writers are currently receiving tuition from writer and Open University tutor Heather Richardson, who is taking them through a six week creative writing programme.
The feedback from the group on Heather’s approach has been brilliant and Heather is equally complimentary about the group, describing them as a ‘lovely bunch with a great range of interests and talents.’
The Hub is a great spot and the group would like to thank Carol and her band of willing volunteers for their hospitality and they extended to her their best wishes for future success.
Burnavon Writers is organised as part of the Arts and Culture Development programme of Cookstown District Council. New members are always welcome - for more information contact 8676 9949 option 4.
