Calmly trust when storms of life descend

Don’t dwell too much on your failing efforts

Or shirk from rough patches on the way

Rather be thankful that your joy and peace

Are not based on our abilities each day.

Never doubt God has a purpose for you

So many miracles are achieved from prayer

Though life holds many triumphs and defeat

Through it all the Shepherd is there,

And the Shepherd so true and unchanging
Stands by you in those hours of need
Calmly trust when storms of life descend

There’s no prayer that He does not heed.

Indeed there’s so much lies beyond our knowledge
But keep God’s goodness before your eyes

No road will lead you back to yesterday
Today may hold more than you realise.
