A baker who threw himself across the bonnet of a police car and shouted “you b....s” at officers, was fined £165 at Magherafelt Magistrates Court.

Robert Fullerton (24), of Park View, Castledawson, admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour at Rainey Street car park, Magherafelt, on January 19.

A PPS lawyer said defendant had earlier come out of a nightclub shouting loudly and waving his arms around.

She said defendant kicked out at officers and was verbally abusive telling them to “f...k off” and “you have my brother’s car.”

Admitting the offence defence solicitor Stephen Atherton explained Fullerton had gone out that night in a foul mood having broken up from a long term relationship and angry that his brother’s vehicle had been impounded.

Imposing the fines District Judge Alan White said it had been “daft behaviour.”
