Clear ice off vehicles - police

POLICE are urging motorists, and particularly drivers of larger vehicles, to make sure that their vehicles are free from ice and snow before they set off on their journey.

The warning has been issued now following a report that a block of ice, which fell from a red lorry travelling from Ballymoney towards Ballymena, smashed the windscreen of a following car and injured the driver.

The incident happened at Crankill Road around 11.47 am on Tuesday, January 12.

Police are investigating the incident and have urged witnesses to come forward.
