Coalisland men to stand trial in intimidation case

Two men from the Coalisland area are to stand trial in relation to allegations of intimidation and assault.

Aidan Dennis Corr, from Collowen, and Michael Bell, of Ashlough Drive, appeared before a preliminary enquiry hearing at Dungannon Magistrates.

The defendants, both of whom are aged 21, are jointly accused of assaulting a male on December 14 last year.

Corr, meanwhile, faces further charges of assaulting a second male and intimidating a witness, as well as two counts of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knife, at The Square, Coalisland, on the same date.

Corr is also accused of making a threat to kill the same alleged injured party.

During the brief hearing, neither defendant made any reply to the charges, except to say that they understood the matters which were being brought before the court.

District Judge, John Meehan, remanded both on bail and ordered them to return to Dungannon Crown Court on September 18.
