UP-AND-COMING Cookstown comedian, Cormac O’Donnell is launching a new comedy night at a pizza place in the town this week.
The funny man, who is returning to the stage after some time out, has recently been on tour with Ardal O’Hanlon.
Following the success of that tour he has now been booked to support Jason Manford .
But before he heads off for the bright lights of the big stage he said he wants to spend some time raising laughs in his home town.
With that in mind, Cormac known locally as ‘Cookie’, is setting up a new comedy club on the last Thursday of every month at The Pizza Deck restaurant in Loy Street.
The Comedy Deck, which will showcase a headline and a support act from the country’s entertainers, will be compered by Cormac himself.
Cookstown’s first Comedy Deck is taking place this Thursday (August 29) at 9pm sharp.
Micky Bartlett, one of Northern Ireland’s fastest rising comedians, will take to the stage on the opening night.
“Discovered” via the Beeb’s Northern Ireland reality series Find Me the Funny, he is arguably the funniest thing to come out of Lurgan.
After playing to a sold out crowd in Edinburgh, he has gone on to support Patrick Kielty at The Odyssey and wow crowds everywhere with his jokes.
He will be supported by none other than Sean Hegarty - a Northern Irish one-liner comedian, who mixes witty and original gags with silly and absurd observations.
His dry wit and deadpan jokes will treat you to a performance not often seen on the Northern Irish circuit.
The £8 entry fee covers a pizza meal deal with a glass of wine or beer and a night full of laughs.
