A Dungannon man who admitted possession of cannabis has been sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
Stuart Greenaway, 27, from Eastvale Avenue, was stopped by police on the afternoon of November 23 as he drove on Killyman Road.
The constables had occasion to search the car and found suspect herbal cannabis in a bag filled with rubbish.
During interview he admitted the substance was his and that he knew it to be cannabis.
Handing down the sentence, District Judge John Meehan told the defendant: “From your record it is clear that your indulgence in drugs goes back some years.
“In 2007 and 2011 you were cautioned for it, and in 2012 you were dealt with by a fine.
“Now, in 2015, we have you with a £30 quantity.
“If community service doesn’t work we will be looking into custody.”
