ULSTER Unionist Party Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has wished the Cookstown firm CDE Global Ltd best wishes for the final of the UK Private Business Awards 2013.

Sandra said: “I would like congratulate all those involved with the CDE Global firm for reaching the final of the UK Private Business Awards, which is to be held in London in September. CDE Global has made the final three of the HSBC Commercial sponsored Exporter of the Year Award for 2013, and will go up against two other organisations from Northern Ireland. This has been an extremely competitive category within a prestigious set of awards, and everyone from CDE can be very proud of their efforts.

“It is great to see local firms not only competing for business in an increasingly globalised market, and succeeding, but to also being recognised in national awards for this work. It is testament to the dedication and effort that is put into delivering high quality products and world class service to customers all over the world. This work continues TO advertise Northern Ireland and Mid-Ulster to the world.

Mrs Overend, who is the Ulster Unionist Party Spokesperson for the Economy, continued, “This nomination for the Exporter of the Year Award follows CDE’s announcement of their expansion just last month following an investment of £2.7m in a new manufacturing facility in Cookstown. The new plant will manufacture a range of equipment for the sewage and waste water treatment industries for overseas markets, and will bring economic benefits for the Mid-Ulster area, as well as for Northern Ireland.

“I would once again like to offer my congratulations to CDE Global Ltd for getting to this stage of the UK Private Business Awards, and wish them the best of luck in their category for the awards ceremony in September.”
