Corran overwhelmed by support for annual appeal
Corran Integrated Primary was overwhelmed by the support for its annual Giving Tree Appeal in aid of both the St Vincent de Paul Society and Belfast City Mission.
“This year, more than ever, everyone is very aware of the economic climate,” said Mrs Gilmartin, vice-principal. “And yet we have had such tremendous support,” she added.
“We believe the the success of the appeal is due to the fact that families wished to share with their children the importance of giving at this time of year, as opposed to just receiving.”
Representatives from St Vincent De Paul and Belfast City Mission attended the school to collect the presents and deliver them to people in need in the local community.
