Council seeks views on improvement plan

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is asking for the public's views on its Draft Performance Improvement Plan for 2016/2017 during the month of May.

The Plan is now available online at www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk and on request; and feedback on this document will provide the Council with the ongoing management, improvement and development of its service delivery areas.

The Chairman of the Governance and Audit Committee, Alderman William Leathem, outlined the purpose of the Performance Improvement Plan.

He said: “The Plan details improvements we have identified and which we would like to implement. In 2016/17 the improvements will focus on five objectives. The Objectives and the Plan relate to the Council’s Corporate Plan’s strategic objectives for performance setting, management, accountability and ownership.

“Please take some time out to have a look at the Plan’s content. All comments will be considered with a summary of these responses provided to the Governance and Audit Committee prior to any finalised document being agreed.”

The Council’s Chief Executive, Dr Theresa Donaldson, said: “There is always room for improvement in any business, and with the Council now being one-year-old, we are looking to our service delivery and how this can be improved for the betterment of our citizens.
