Council urges kids to eat healthily
Envirnomental Health Officers met children taking part in summer schemes and a soccer school recently to promote healthy eating.
The Officers set up a healthy snacks and drinks display to educate children and parents on suitable snacks for lunch boxes.

Hide AdCouncil also provided each child at the three events with complimentary health packs to promote health and wellbeing. The packs included pure fruit juice, lower fat/salt snacks; lunch box flyers, nutrition sticker packs and Soltan suncream sachets from Boots.
Debbie Keys, Health and Wellbeing Officer from Coleraine Borough Council was delighted by the success of the scheme, she said; “Our aim was to educate and enhance young people’s understanding of their nutritional needs and encourage them to make healthier choices in the future.
“To further reinforce this message, each child was provided with a nutritional information pack with child-friendly leaflets and stickers and easy lunch box ideas for parents.
“I was delighted with the positive response and feedback received from both children and their parents throughout this scheme.
