HERE’S a ‘moo-ving’ tale that luckily ended well for one unfortunate bullock in Magherafelt.
The farmyard animal had to be rescued after managing to get its head stuck in the trunk of a tree in a field just off the Ballyronan Road.
Fire crews were tasked to the out of the ‘udder-inary’ incident on June 8th after receiving a report of the distressed cow at about 1.13pm.
Firefighters who arrived on scene enlisted the help of Omagh’s animal rescue team, who used specialist equipment to save the large bullock including rescue sling telescopic handler.
The four-legged animal was eventually released from the trunk, and joined the rest of the herd at around 4.01pm, uninjured.
