Visitors to the Craft Village are now being greeted by an array of creativity including dream catchers, bunting, hundreds of pompoms, crocheted flowers and knitted totem poles.

Over the last few months, Margaret has been leading weekly classes at the Central Library where anyone interested could come, learn more about crochet, embroidery and other techniques as well as meeting like-minded people to help create the CraftBomb.

“It’s been so much fun being involved in this project and meeting so many other crafty people. To see all our hard work on display in the Craft Village was a great moment and I hope everyone enjoys it,” said Margaret.

Voluntary Arts Week is a celebration across UK and Ireland which is organised by Voluntary Arts Ireland, based at the Verbal Arts Centre, and the CraftBomb is the showcase event of the week.

Kevin Murphy, Chief Officer of VAI said: “There are so many phenomenally talented creative citizens who do not seek the limelight, who create art solely for the love of it and it is these people who Voluntary Arts Week is for. We want to see people celebrate their creativity and hope many more will join in the celebrations during the week.”
