Eoin Ellis (23), of Knockalla Park, pleaded guilty to having no insurance and failing to produce a driving licence on March 7 and a driving without insurance on April 6.

Ellis was stopped in the grounds of Gransha Hospital and given seven days to produce his policy of insurance. He failed to so and was caught driving again four weeks later. The insurance policy had been cancelled without his knowledge.

Deputy District Judge Paul Conway said Ellis had acted ‘selfishly’ by continuing to drive after the first detection and fined him £500.
