Police in Mid Ulster have warned shop owners and employees to be vigilant as fake £50 notes are currently in circulation.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “We’re aware of some counterfeit £50 notes in circulation and we are asking business owners and employees to be vigilant when handling money.”
It is understood, the serial numbers of some of the notes may be as follows:
BE04 445628; FR11 348272; EP03 346555; AV14 450914.
“It’s important that staff have the right tools and knowledge to detect fake notes in order to protect your business,” said the spokesperson.
There are a number of things to look out for, including does the main printing feel raised? Can you see a bold and clear watermark when the note is held up to the light?
