It is understood the man was shot in both legs following a row at a party in the Drumcree area of town at around 5.30pm.

Eye witness reports suggest the victim was involved in a disagreement with a man, who then left the house.

Two men were later reported to have entered the premises, before the victim was injured.

Police and ambulance attended the scene, and after the injured man was removed from the house by paramedics, local reports indicate around 10 people followed him out.

While the PSNI were unavailable for comment late on Sunday, a spokesperson for the Northern Trust confirmed that the man had been taken to Antrim for treatment. They said he had been shot in both legs and that while his condition was stable, he was to be moved to a hospital in Belfast.
