Nater Augusto Semedo from Oldtown Street, was also given four penalty points.

The court heard the 38-year-old was detected on July 21 last year at 6.30pm.

Pair were refused bail.

A PPS lawyer said the defendant was 31mph over the limit for the road and a fixed penalty could not be offered because of the speed he was doing.
A defence lawyer said the defendant is Portuguese and has been living here for the last 11 years. He pleaded with the court not to impose a disqualification as the defendant needed the licence for his work and family.
