Pensioner murdered for £375
Police said yesterday that the burglar made off with just £375 in cash.
72-year-old Bertie (Robert) Acheson, from Glenmore Gardens, died shortly after the break-in which happened around 1.30am on Monday. Shiela, his wife of 44 years, was treated for shock but was unharmed.

Hide AdDuring a police appeal on Monday afternoon, the Detective Inspector leading the investigation described the crime as ‘callous’.
Detective Inspector Ian Harrison, said that “a life had been lost for a pitiful amount of money”, revealing that the intruder got away with just £375 in cash.
