Police appeal after Desertmartin hit-and-run car flees toward Magherafelt

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed a hit and run incident near Desertmartin to get in touch.

It is understood noone was hurt in the two vehicle collision on the Roshure Road just before 10am on Monday, but one car fled the scene in the direction of Magherafelt after crashing into the other.

Police constable Conor Corrigan said: “We are investigating a report of a non-injury hit and run RTC, which happened at around 9.45pm on Monday [July 27th] in the Roshure Road area of Desertmartin.

“It is understood a vehicle collided with another vehicle and drove off in the direction of Magherafelt.

“If you can help with enquiries please call the 101 number, quoting reference number 109327715, particularly if you noticed a blue coloured Volkswagen vehicle in the area at the time.

“Alternatively information can be passed via the independent Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.”
