Detectives are appealing for information after a 20-year-old man was robbed at knife point of his phone, wallet, keys and cigarettes by two teenagers in Co Derry.

The incident took place at around 6.55pm on Thursday evening, when the pair reportedly held him at knife point before rifling through his pockets.

One of the culprits is described as being 18 or 19 years old, about 5ft10, of slim build and was wearing a black duffel jacket with a furry hood.

The other is thought to be in his late teens, around 6ft1, of medium build and was wearing a grey hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The incident took place on Collon Lane in the Racecourse Road area of Derry.

Detective Inspector Conor McStravick said: “I would ask anyone who noticed these two males or any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
