Police find drug in living room

A Moneymore man found with seven grams of cannabis, was fined £150 with a £15 offender levy at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A Moneymore man found with seven grams of cannabis, was fined £150 with a £15 offender levy at Magherafelt Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Raymond Alan George Watterson (53), of Woodvale Crescent, admitted possessing the drug on September 20 last.

A PPS lawyer said police found the cannabis and other paraphernalia in the living room on a house and Watterson “took ownership”.

Defence lawyer Michael Forde said it was a small amount and stressed the defendant has not been before the court for six years.
