Police warn public to keep an eye out for fake £20 notes

Police are warning the Mid Ulster public to be on the lookout for fake £20 notes.

They say a number of them have been passed in shops in the district in recent days.

In a social media post, the police describe the notes as good quality polymer fakes, the colours and details appear correct and definitely require a second glance.

"Keep an eye out for them, they have a very slightly different texture to genuine notes, they show up under the UV detectors and the foil around the crown will come off if scratched with a finger nail. They also get spotted my money counting machines," the post reads.
