Sheep stolen from farm

POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of sheep from a farm in Maghera.

Sometime between 5pm and 8pm on Monday evening (March 26), a gate leading to a field in the Crewe Road area was opened, allowing a large number of sheep to escape. When the farmer returned to round up the sheep he discovered around seventy had been stolen at a cost of around £7000.

Police are appealing to anyone who knows of anyone selling sheep in suspicious circumstances to contact them. Also, if anyone was in the area of Crewe Road and noticed any suspicious activity to contact Police at Magherafelt on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
