Snatch and grab robbery in Lurgan

A young woman had her purse stolen during a snatch and grab robbery in Lurgan on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old was walking along Carnegie St at around 10.10am when she was approached by a man who asked for money for the bus.

Police said the woman removed her purse from her bag and the man snatched it and ran off in the direction of Tesco.

“The male removed a sum of cash from the purse before throwing it on the ground,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

The man is described as being in his 50s with scruffy, grey, long hair and was wearing a black fleece.
