Teenager arrested: two cars and digger damaged in fire

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of arson following an incident in which two cars and a digger were damaged near Dungannon.

Police said at around 10.30pm on Monday, a passing police patrol came across a digger and a crane on fire at land off the Cookstown Road used to store vehicles.

On further investigation, officers noted damage to the cars and a second digger.

A short time later an 18-year-old man was arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Enquiries are continuing and officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1816 01/12/20.
