‘Took chance’ to get to work

AFACTORY worker who drove uninsured because he was unable to get a lift to work, has been banned from driving for two weeks.

Stephen Currie (25), of Thornhill Court, Magherafelt, was also fined £200 for having no insurance on March 1.

Curriewas Conditionally Discharged for 12 months on charges of driving while unaccompanied and failing to display ‘L’ plates on the same date.

A defence lawyer said Currie “took the chance” and drove to the Cheese Factory as he did not want to go back on the dole but, unfortunately, this has been the result.
