Two men arrested in Cookstown as police step up dissident probes

TWO men arrested in the Cookstown area in relation to dissident republican activity remain in custody.

The 37 year-old and 38 year-old were arrested on Tuesday morning by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.

The MAIL understands that police have stepped up patrols and surveillance in relation to terrorist activity in the district over the last number of weeks.

At the time of going to print yesterday, the men, along with a 39 year-old from north Belfast, remained in custody sat Antrim Crime Suite.
